NHS App - Track/Manage a referral

Please note, you must have downloaded and setup the NHS App in order to order repeat prescriptions via the NHS App. Click here for the guide on How to Download the NHS App.

1. Login

Login to the NHS App on your smartphone or via your web browser using the NHS App weblink.

You will be able to sign in using Face ID or your NHS Login credentials.

2. Menu

From the main menu, select ‘Appointments’.

3. Appointments

From the appointments page select ‘Referrals, hospital and other appointments’.

4. Referrals, Hospital and other appointments

Here you will see all referrals which are: upcoming, in review or require action from you. 

5. Action, review or upcoming

Here you will be able to select the referral and either check it’s status, check on any upcoming referrals for timings/location or perform actions which the hospital may be awaiting on to progress the referral.

If your appointment is in review please note the date it is due to be reviewed by.

6. Referrals in 'Review'

If you select to ‘view or manage’ this referral when it is pending review, you will find details of when to expect to hear an update, and if you havn’t who and when to contact for further updates.

Please do not contact them before the date they have provided – this will not speed up the process.
